RACE TEAM
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
In 2026, Pitlane Development began running a competitive motorsport programme as we entered the BRSCC City Car Cup Championship with Student Motorsport.
The City Car Cup is one of the UK’s most competitive and accessible club-level racing championships, featuring closely matched production-based cars including the Citroën C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo at circuits across the country.
Pitlane Development’s involvement in the championship represents an important step in the continued growth of the business. Competing within a live race-team environment allows us to combine our career development programmes with genuine, hands-on motorsport experience, giving aspiring engineers and mechanics the opportunity to develop practical skills, understand the demands of a race weekend and build meaningful experience within the paddock.
It further strengthens our commitment to bridging the gap between education and employment by providing the real-world experience that motorsport teams increasingly look for when recruiting the next generation of talent.

MEET THE DRIVERS
REUBEN LOWE
Driver - CAR #25
At 22 years old, East Sussex-based Reuben Lowe is about to embark on his debut season in the Student Motorsport Competition, part of the BRSCC Nankang Tyre City Car Cup Championship.
Reuben’s motorsport journey began at the age of 11 in the highly competitive world of karting. When financial challenges meant an extended karting career was not possible, Reuben pivoted to sim racing under the mentorship of professional race driver Charles Rainford. Under the guidance of the Porsche Carrera Cup and BTCC star, Reuben has gained an extensive knowledge of the UK’s most iconic circuits – experience that will stand him in good stead for his 2026 campaign.
While his days are spent as a professional arborist, Reuben’s focus is firmly set on a long-term racing career with the goal of a factory drive in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
LUKE SAWYER
Driver - CAR #34
Luke Sawyer will step into the Pitlane Development seat for the 6th Round of the BRSCC City Car Cup, replacing regular driver Reuben Lowe for the weekend.
Having recently won the British University Sim Racing Championship and has already shown impressive natural raw pace during his last race in the City Car Cup at Croft with Waltham College, putting the car on the 6th row of the grid.
