WHO ARE WE?
Pitlane Development is a family-owned motorsport career development business dedicated to helping individuals build the skills, experience and confidence needed to pursue a career within the motorsport industry.
Founded in late 2022 by professional motorsport engineer Ollie Walsh, Pitlane Development combines personalised career coaching and soft-skill development with opportunities to gain valuable, hands-on trackside experience in real motorsport environments.
As a family-owned business, Pitlane Development places a strong emphasis on trust, care and personal support. Every individual is treated as more than simply a client, with a genuine focus on understanding their ambitions and supporting their long-term development.
By combining industry knowledge, practical experience and a personal approach, Pitlane Development aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, helping the next generation of motorsport professionals take meaningful steps towards their careers.
WHAT MOTIVATES US?
Motorsport has historically been an incredibly niche and difficult industry to break into, especially if you don't already have contacts or connections within the industry. When I finished college and university, I also found that there was very little motorsport-specific career advice available to help me transition into employment. Now, with 15 years’ experience in the industry, I feel the time is right to use that knowledge to support the next generation of aspiring motorsport professionals.

Ollie Walsh
Founder
Industry Experience – 15 Years
Summary – Ollie brings more than 15 years of motorsport and automotive engineering experience to Pitlane Development. Throughout his career, he has worked with some of the industry’s leading organisations, including Fortescue Zero, OXA, RTR, Roborace, Williams Advanced Engineering, McLaren F1 and McLaren GT. This experience allows Ollie to provide clients with practical, industry-led career guidance grounded in the realities of professional motorsport
Victoria Walsh
Business Administrator
Industry Experience – 12 Years
Summary – Victoria brings more than 10 years of experience in the education sector to Pitlane Development. Victoria helps ensure that Pitlane Development maintains high standards across its mentorship programmes. Her knowledge of safeguarding and STEM education is particularly valuable.
